What is really going to happen in 2012?
I heard the suns radiation will knock off our satellite so we basically can’t use phones or any of the connections for out computers, hardly any light either. But thats what I ehar on the news which can be seen on youtube.com Anyways I am really scared, I hope and hope and hope nothing will happen, no one can predict the future but it seems so real, so many religions predicted this year to come and its just a scary thought of knowing when you will die. I am terrified right now, what is going to happen?

The last big one was in March 1989. Six million people went without power for nine hours. Total number of deaths = 0.
There was a repeat in August 1989, and it caused the crash of computers running a Stock Exchange. Many traders had to go for hours without knowing the value of the shares. Total number of deaths = 0.
Since then, most countries have installed protection for their power distribution grids and most people have better computers.
Satellites can still be a problem (they are more exposed), but it is already normal practice to shut down the most sensible ones when a Coronal Mass Ejection comes our way — we had one in early August 2010. Did you feel anything? Did your phone die? Did you have to eat cold canned food?
As for the Big 2012 Hoax, it is simply a repeat of the Planet-X hoax (we all died on May 13, 2003). I guess if you did not die on May 13, 2003, you should not die this time around either.
Religions are NOT going for the Big 2012 Hoax. They prefer setting up their own (separate) hoaxes about the end of the world.

The future is now. Who would have ever thought that the communicator from a famous outer space television show would become the cell phone of today? We are rapidly rolling into the future of television (TV) broadcast. Worldwide TV shows are now viewable via the internet. Anyone with a pc and high speed internet access can view these broadcasts with the help of viewing software. The purpose of having a software program is to simplify the process of finding and viewing broadcasts.
Many people are flocking to this technology in order to enjoy worldwide viewing of programming that was once reserved for cable and satellite TV. Major networks and small broadcasters will soon be joining the revolution. The International market has alread taken off. This may be the beginnings of a great equalizer for small networks. Eventually, millions of people will enjoy watching ‘The Mom and Pop Network’ via their pc. These are stations that may not have been able to work out deals with the major cable and satellite providers to have their station delivered to the consumer’s home. Another advantage to the consumer is that they will not have to pay monthly charges to cable and Satellite TV companies for these broadcasts. Generally, there is a one-time fee for the software and then the broadcast are free.
There are many software brands available for viewing and organizing cable and Satellite TV on your PC via the internet. Here are some tips that you can consider when you are deciding on a software product.
1. Make sure that you can see a sample of the broadcast quality. Many companies offer a sample on their website or a trial download of the software. In other cases, the company may show you screen shots of the interface.
2. Decide what types of broadcast and channels you are interested in watching. Make sure that the software will pick up these types of broadcast. For example, if you want to see soccer games from around the world, make sure the
software will make this possible and simple.
3. Determine the price of the software and what is included in the price. Note how many channels are available. Note if there are any bonus offers that will make purchasing the software a even better deal.
4. Verify that there is some sort of customer service or technical support contact information. If you have any problems you will need a way to resolve them.
5. Make sure there is a refund policy.
6. If the software does not meet your needs, don’t buy it. Eventually this technology will advance to the stages where it will meet your needs. So there is no rush to jump into it if you are not ready.

What are some innovative ways to use satellite communications?
For example, by cool ideas i mean what products can companies introduce? Like, broadband maritime communications for ships…. satellite mobile phone calls, etc
any advances that might happen in the future?
There are many innovative ideas out there already. GPS has to be one of the greatest developments from satellite technology. There are still many applications to be developed using that. The great advantage is that it is free, a gift from the US to the world that I can certainly appreciate.
There is a need in the environmental monitoring market for better remote communications. This applies to oceanography, weather, crops, floods, bushfires, icebergs, animals etc. While such systems have been developed, and are used, the common thread with satellite technology is the cost. The greatest innovation would be some way of reducing the cost of communicating through a satellite. It seems this is related to lowering launch costs or extending the deployment time in some way. There have been admirable achievements in all areas, but the lowered cost would open up the field for new users.
